We purchased tickets (they are actually free but you pay a service fee) to go to the California Science Center and check out the space shuttle Endeavour. It was amazing! I was in total awe. I thought Afton was going to be disappointed that he couldn't go inside, but he didn't care. He was pretty dumbstruck too. He's loved space shuttles for a long time. Luckily he was able to watch a couple of launches, including the final one.
